The newly opened Johns Prairie Operations Center, which houses some 114 employees, is the site for the PUD 3 warehouse; field operations such as Shelton line workers; vehicle maintenance, repair and fueling; engineering, led lighting telecommunications, energy conservation, the meter shop, transformer and substation maintenance; and various administrative functions. In addition to the downtown Shelton payment center, customers will also be able to make payments, set up accounts and conduct general business at the Johns Prairie facility. Customers will still receive service at both the downtown Shelton payment center and Belfair office.

Coming from his position at the City of Shelton, Myer has spent the past 10 years with PUD 3, and is thrilled with the new facility, especially the expanded opportunity to better serve PUD customers, "The planning stage for this project started about 14 years ago," said Myer. "As a result, we will be able to provide better service out in the field.Offering a wide variety of led lamp fixtures for the garden, patio lights, and outdoor lighting fixtures to complement your home."

One example is the tracking system for outages. PUD 3 staff use the PUD's phone system to track outages, thanks to a system developed in-house, Myer pointed out. "When a call comes in, it will show up on the map … having people call in is one of the best ways to track an outage. The system gives the area where most calls are coming from."

Another example is the additional office space, especially designed for customer-centered service and larger and more flexible public meeting spaces, which will be provided at little or no charge to qualifying groups. Designed with Pacific Northwest flair, complete with a fir ceiling, the auditorium will seat 250 people, and can be divided into two separate rooms.Wholesale Low Voltage led tube, Landscape Lighting supplier to professionals.

One cannot walk onto the property without noticing the innovative design and dedication to environmental stewardship such as the low water-use plantings of native and near native plants designed and installed by the Mason Conservation District. Nine rain gardens surround the area designed to collect and treat stormwater, protecting the Johns Creek watershed. Another benefit is the re-use of rainwater from building roofs for toilet flushing and landscape irrigation.

When it comes to the buildings, it is estimated that the installation of solar power will reduce the PUD's carbon footprint by approximately 13 tons per year, saving the purchase of an estimated 189,000 kWh annually. That is enough electricity to power 14 typical Mason County homes for a year.

Other features include a high efficiency geothermal heat pump system, radiant floor heat, a passive ventilation system which will assist in heating and cooling and, to reduce electricity consumption, a controllable lighting system. The buildings also have been designed specifically to increase the amount of natural light streaming into the buildings to further reduce energy needs.Interlink able Solar garden lighting. Myer reports that there will be no net increase to rates due to this project. PUD 3 was able to obtain an excellent bond rating and accessed federal programs to reduce the overall cost of financing. In addition, bids on the project came in lower than expected, providing money-saving opportunities, he said.

PUD 3 also reports that in addition to helping local government through fees,Solar yard Outdoor light and store their own power in the day and release it at night.Paradise Garden Lighting is a provider of high quality outdoor and modern lamps systems and solutions for your home. permits and taxes, construction of the operations center has employed several qualified local contractors and businesses. "It has also brought business to local motels, gas stations and restaurants," said Myer.
